Liberty Health, administrator to Liberty Medical Scheme, has now established an in-house HIV Management Programme.
As a result, all members registered with the current service provider, Aid for Aids, will be transferred to the Liberty Health HIV Management Programme effective from 1 March 2015.
Over the next few weeks, we will communicate to all Liberty Medical Scheme members and healthcare providers about this change.
For your records and in case of queries from your clients, please be aware of the following:
How members will be affected if they are registered with Aid for Aids
The Liberty Health HIV Management Programme has a dedicated team of healthcare and support professionals, with many years of experience in the field of HIV disease management.
Only this team will have access to the necessary details to manage members registered on the Programme. In this way we can ensure that we respect our members’ right to privacy and confidentiality at all times.
Should a Liberty Medical Scheme member be registered with Aid for Aids, one of the Liberty Health HIV Management Programme team members will be in contact with the member before and after the transfer date.
The move to the Liberty Health HIV Management Programme will in no way affect members’ benefits, pre-authorisations, choice of treating doctor or the way in which they receive their HIV medication.
How to register on the HIV Management Programme before 1 March 2015
If a member needs to register on the HIV Management Programme for the first time before the end of February 2015, they should use the current registration process described in the Pre-authorisation section of the 2015 Liberty Medical Scheme Membership Guide. Registered members will be transferred to the Liberty Health HIV Management Programme from 1 March 2015.
Please note that members who are on a ‘Select’ option choice need to register with a State facility for HIV management, whilst members on TRADITIONAL Basic should register for HIV management by contacting Prime Cure.
For more information, please check the Pre-authorisation section in the 2015 Membership Guide.
